![]() Fixed not being able to choose the default Phoenix Walker requisition item as Vanguard, Amazon, Shakarn or Syndicate.Fixed the Masking Frequencies planet trait not working. The Psi-Fish Hunting Grounds planet trait now forces the planet to be continents and disallows changing of game settings to prevent issues with Psi-Fish dwelling spawns.Meanwhile, we are hard at work on new exciting things and while having no announcements at PDXCon, we will be participating in a couple of Panels! Check out the PDXCon Remixed Agenda for details. We want to thank everyone for the continued support and feedback on the forums! While our active presence in the community has ramped down we still regularly check incoming posts and reports. This is where we come in with another update!Īs mentioned in our 'Mission Accomplished' debriefing, active development of Age of Wonders: Planetfall has ended but we are committed to supporting the game where necessary. Those victories are not without setbacks sometimes caused by issues that are outside of a commander's power to fix. From Dvars taming Tyrannodons to Shakarn riding mechs every commander seeks their own way towards glory. The game also thinks it’s being clever by allowing up to 42 units (spot the nerd reference) in a battle, but that’s just too much and the bigger fights become bogged down and overlong.Over the last few months, we have seen many new Empires arise and flourish. Once you’ve a few battles under your belt though that doesn’t really matter and you can start to enjoy the differences from XCOM, which include a much greater variety of units, including vehicles, and mechanics like being able to stagger an enemy to stop them using a special attack or still doing a lesser amount of damage with a missed shot. Even though most of the systems, like taking cover and preparing overwatch to fire at enemies during their turn, are very similar everything always seems to need just a couple of extra button presses to get working. As with everything else, you do get used to the controls eventually but it’s interesting just how fussy and unintuitive everything seems compared to XCOM on consoles. ![]() ![]() The turn-based combat takes place on a hex-based grid and works very much like XCOM’s more introverted brother. ![]()
